This was one of my most memorable weddings I have shot.  This couple was from Japan and hardly spoke English.  They were so polite and nice.  Just after I met the couple the wedding coordinator from the Four Seasons Resort on Lanai told me that the bride had stage 4 cancer.  She was not expected to live for over a year.  Now to me, the photos of this wedding were more important than ever.  We went a bit over the top and I asked them if they wanted to do some out-of-the-box shots. We had so much fun and they loved their photos.  It was two years after the wedding that I got word that she had passed away.  The groom sent me a note telling me how much they loved their wedding photos and how she looked at them every day.  I was so honored to be part of their special day and to be able to tell their story.
